I’m an adult and have little experience with horses, what horse riding lesson should I book?
If you are returning to riding, rusty or looking to get back into it we have a lovely adult group lesson on Wednesdays at 7pm which is for adults who would like to gain confidence.
What will I learn?

Firstly you master the basic principles of riding, starting, stopping, basic turns. The next stages include mastering the rising trot and then, cantering.

Once established as a rider there is a more advanced group horse riding lesson on Thursday at 7pm.

When can I hack out?

Riders who can canter can hack out with a group at 2.15pm on Wednesdays and 10am on Thursdays.

How old do my children need to be before they can ride?

Children have to be at least four years-old before they start to ride.

What horse riding lessons can my child have?

We have beginner lessons on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 4pm and Mondays at 3.30pm. These lessons are 1/2hour and are designed to be fun and confidence building. Once your child is confidently off the lead rein and cantering we have Intermediate groups then Advanced. In order to join these lessons your child will need to subscribe to our Woodredon beginners club, please call the office on 01992 714 312 for more information.

What do I need to wear?

Riding hats can be borrowed free of charge from the centre, all of which are to the latest European safety standard, PAS 015, which exceeds the new British safety standard and is the highest standard available. It is advisable to wear leggings, track suit bottoms, comfortable trousers with a sensible pair of boots or shoes when horse riding, preferably with a small heel and a smooth sole. Once you establish that you want to continue horse riding we can point you in the right direction to buy your own equipment.

Once booked what do I need to do on the day?

Before your first riding lesson with us you will need to fill out a Rider Registration Form. You can either download this form on the website, pick one up from the centre beforehand or alternatively arrive 15 minutes early and fill it out before riding. We also advise all riders to have their own insurance.

The riding school is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, we no longer offer lessons at weekends. We offer group lessons on these days at set times, we no longer offer private tuition.
